The Butles

It was twenty years ago today since
It was twenty years ago today since
It was twenty years ago today since
It was twenty years ago.

Today
Any butler could be heard to say
'The supply of me, sir, though it peeves,
Means a payday for the likes of Jeeves.
So may I introduce to you
(With tact and our discretion clear)
Hardened Butlers On A Hundred Grand.'

We're Hardened Butlers On One Hundred Grand,
We hope you will reward our show:
Hardened Butlers On One Hundred Grand,
Sit back and let your purse-strings go.
Hardened Butlers Only
Hardened Butlers Only
Hardened Butlers On One Hundred Grand.

Both Thatcher and New Labour
Have helped us top the bill
From Hampshire to The Hebrides
A swell of fresh celebrities
Is ringling up our till.

We don't really want to mention dough
But there aren't enough of us, you know,
So let us gently bang your gong,
For the multi-million-dollar throng
And let us act as living proof
Two nations never disappeared...

The Butles
There is a shortage of butlers (according to the Professional Guild of Butlers, whose members can earn up to £100,000). It is forty years this week since the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
